“kentropic” is Ken Moir, and that’s me. Professionally speaking, I’m an HR pro and employment-brand builder, with an emphasis on attracting and retaining great people by helping them feel engaged and rewarded at work. So far, I’ve found that innovative learning & development programs are one of the best ways to do that, so that’s where I concentrate my time and attention.

I’m also an ex-lawyer and operations manager who has been blessed with the chance to ply my trade in Hawaii, New Zealand and Mallorca. There’s something about the island life that’s in my blood, apparently — even my ancestors are from Scotland.

“kina’ole” is an ancient Hawai’ian principle for living that translates roughly as “flawlessness” of conduct. It can also be described as follows:

“Doing the right thing in the right way, at the right time, in the right place, to the right person, for the right reason, with the right feeling, the first time.”

  1. Aloha Kenny,

“Doing the right thing in the right way, at the right time, in the right place, to the right person, for the right reason, with the right feeling, the first time.”

    this is nice.

    • Thanks, Robin.

I first learned about kina’ole from Ms. Kris, who’s now teaching in Waiohinu, and I’ve tried to carry the concept with me ever since. Malama pono!
